The reliability of Windows Server
There is no denying: Microsoft has done a great job with their line of Windows Servers, especially Windows 2016.
A remote Windows virtual server
Install and run your company's applications on Windows virtual servers, hosted by ColossusCloud
Accessing your Windows remote desktop is quite easy. From your Windows computer, find an application called "Remote Desktop Connection". If you are using a Mac, just install the free "Microsoft Remote Desktop" app from the AppStore.
Once you do that, enter the username and password you set up during the deployment of your new Windows server. Within seconds, the virtual server's Windows desktop will show up. Then, just use the server as you would any other Windows operating system.
Frequently asked questions
We strongly recommend Windows 2019 for your MetaTrader needs. We do not recommend Windows 10 as Windows 10 can reboot itself to install updates, and that may kill your MetaTrader application. Windows Server editions, such as Windows 2016, do not have this behavior.
We bill all Forex VPS servers by the hour. As an example, this means you can deploy servers with different operating systems for just a day in order to test a new version of your application. To begin, you first make a "deposit" into your account, for example, $25, and as the hours go by, we deduct the hourly price of each of your virtual servers from that deposit. Before the deposit runs out, we will automatically re-fill your account by charging your credit card for an amount equal to about 30 days of service. You may also pay by PayPal.
MetaTrader and some EAs require a lot of RAM. We recommend at least 4 GB of RAM. While some other cheap Forex VPS providers give you a low-price virtual server with just 1 GB of RAM, do you really want to risk your MetaTrader running out of RAM in the middle of the night?
We recommend our G3.4 plan for your Forex VPS. G3.2 should be ok at the beginning, but remember that EAs may consume a lot more RAM than just a standard MetaTrader installation.
You get what you pay for. You pay cheap, you will get cheap. We are Enterprise level.
Sign up below for your Forex VPS, and once you log in to our Client Portal, click on "Deploy a new VM" to the left of the menu. In that screen, choose G3.2 or G3.4 (G3.4 is the preferred choice), we recommend you choose the Ashburn, Virginia region (closest to New York trading centers), specify a password, choose a backup plan, and click "deploy". Then, check your email for further instructions.
Fast! Your MetaTrader will be accessing the Internet directly through the Internet's fiber backbones, not that unreliable cable modem coax or DSL cable at your home.
In the case of a Windows VPS, such as what MetaTrader requires, it is a full version of the Windows operating system running virtualized in a physical server, operating in a shared environment along with other clients. Each client is independent and fully isolated from each other.
