Frequently Asked Questions
If it's cheap, it must be terrible!
Not at all. All our servers are modern Xeon E5 or Xeon Scalable servers, with SSD storage and 10gig networking. Our infrastructure is actually quite modern! We also do not overload our servers with too many clients! Sign up and buy your VPS with confidence. We are top rated!
Isn't an "instance", "cloud", "droplet", "virtual server", or "virtual machine" better than a VPS?
Shocking truth: they are all the same. They all refer to the same: a physical server that can be sliced into pockets of RAM and CPU, and each pocket contains its own individual operating system, assigned to you, the customer.
Do you offer Windows?
Absolutely! You can deploy a VPS with Windows installed in it, with just a single click. Windows 7, Windows 10, Windows Server 2008, Windows Server 2012, Windows Server 2016 and the new Windows Server 2019 are all available.
Are you one of the top VPS providers in the industry?
We can say we are. We've been in business for almost two decades, offering a variety of hosting services. And we've been operating ColossusCloud, our very own virtualization platform, for almost five years.
Which distributions of Linux are available?
All popular distributions: CentOS, Ubuntu LTS, Fedora and Debian.
What about an easier way to use Windows? I don't understand the Server editions.
In that case, we recommend Windows 10. If you have applications that can't run in Windows 10, then we recommend Windows 7.
How is the service billed?
We bill all servers by the hour. To begin, you first make a "deposit" into your account, for example, $50, and as the hours go by, we deduct the hourly price of each of your virtual servers from that deposit. Before the deposit runs out, we will automatically refill your account by charging your credit card. You may also use PayPal.
How fast will it be?
Quite fast! However, always take into account the fact that the virtual server is on a location "far" from you, not right in front of you, and that you are accessing it via your local Internet provider. If your Internet is slow, well, accessing your VPS will also be slow. Out of our 6 global data centers, choose the one that is closest for faster performance.
Is cPanel available?
Yes, and its installation is fully automated. When deploying a Linux virtual server with CentOS, just choose the "Install cPanel" option and it will be ready for you within an hour (cPanel's installation can take a long time!).
Is there a private network between the virtual servers?
Yes, and it is configured in interface eth1. Private networking will work within Linux, and Windows, virtual servers within the same data center.
