A remote Windows VPS virtual server

Install and run your company's applications on Windows virtual servers, hosted by ColossusCloud

Accessing your Windows VPS remote desktop is quite easy. From your Windows computer, find an application called "Remote Desktop Connection". If you are using a Mac, just install the free "Microsoft Remote Desktop" app from the AppStore.

Once you do that, enter the username and password you set up during the deployment of your new Windows server. Within seconds, the virtual server's Windows VPS desktop will show up. Then, just use the server as you would any other Windows VPS operating system.

How can it be so cheap?

Times have changed! Costs in data center operation have gone down, and server density has doubled or tripled in the last few years. Today's faster and more dense RAM, CPUs and lower power consumption, we've been able to achieve the low prices you see above. When we save, we pass on those savings to you!

But how is the level of service?

Great! We've been hosting Windows based virtual servers for over a decade. Our level of experience in managing data centers goes back almost three decades. We built our data center operations, network infrastructure, and the ColossusCloud infrastructure ourselves. And we built them for efficiency and performance in mind.

Which size of virtual server do you recommend?

We strongly recommend at least 2GBs of RAM. Do not expect Windows to perform well with just 1 GB of RAM. If you are going to be using a web browser within your Windows server often, then you should increase RAM to 4 or even 8 GBs of RAM. Web browsers can consume a lot of RAM!

Which version of Windows should I choose?

On the server side of Windows, we strongly recommend Windows 2019. Microsoft has invested great sums of time and energy into making Windows 2019 the top operating system in the industry. And we agree with its quality and stability statements. On the desktop side, we recommend Windows 10, mostly because it is a very CPU and RAM efficient operating system.

How is my Windows virtual private server billed?

We bill all servers by the hour. For example, a $5/mo virtual server is USD $0.007 per hour. Although some months have more hours than others, the virtual server will not be billed per month for more than the amount shown above. The advantage of hourly billing though is that you can deploy test virtual servers for just a few days, for example, and only pay for the time they were active.
