Windows VPS with Remote Desktop access

Install and run your company's applications on Windows virtual servers, hosted by ColossusCloud

Accessing your Windows remote desktop is quite easy. From your Windows computer, find an application called "Remote Desktop Connection". If you are using a Mac, just install the free "Microsoft Remote Desktop" app from the AppStore.

Once you do that, enter the username and password you set up during the deployment of your new Windows server. Within seconds, the virtual server's Windows desktop will show up. Then, just use the server as you would any other Windows operating system.

What is a Windows VPS?

A Windows VPS (Virtual Private Server) is a virtualized server running Windows. You get dedicated CPU, RAM, and storage resources with full administrator access. Connect via Remote Desktop (RDP) and use it like any Windows machine.

Which Windows Server version do you recommend?

We recommend Windows Server 2022 for new deployments. It offers improved security, better container support, and Azure hybrid capabilities. Windows Server 2019 remains an excellent choice for stability. Both are available for immediate deployment.

How do I connect to my Windows VPS?

Use Remote Desktop (RDP). On Windows, search for 'Remote Desktop Connection'. On Mac, install 'Microsoft Remote Desktop' from the App Store. Enter your server's IP address and credentials, and you'll see your Windows desktop within seconds.

How is billing handled?

We bill hourly. Deploy a Windows VPS for a day to test something, then delete it. You only pay for the hours you use. Add funds to your account, and we deduct usage as you go. Plans start at $10/month.

How much RAM and CPU do you recommend?

Windows requires more resources than Linux. We recommend at least 4 GB RAM for basic use. For running applications or using a web browser via RDP, choose 8 GB RAM and 4 vCPUs. For disk space, 50 GB or more is ideal since Windows uses 15 to 25 GB.

How quickly can I deploy a Windows VPS?

Your Windows VPS is ready in about 5 minutes with all the latest Microsoft updates pre-installed. RDP access is available immediately after deployment.

Can I install Microsoft Office or SQL Server?

Yes. We offer licensed Microsoft software including Office, SQL Server, and Exchange through the Microsoft SPLA program. Select the software you need during deployment or add it later.

Is there a private network and IPv6 support?

Yes. Every VPS includes private networking for secure server-to-server communication and full IPv6 support. Enable either with a single click in the control panel. Routed /64 or /56 IPv6 subnets are available within seconds via our portal.
