Install and run your company's applications on Windows virtual servers, hosted by ColossusCloud
Accessing your Windows remote desktop is quite easy. From your Windows computer, find an application called "Remote Desktop Connection". If you are using a Mac, just install the free "Microsoft Remote Desktop" app from the AppStore.
Once you do that, enter the username and password you set up during the deployment of your new Windows server. Within seconds, the virtual server's Windows desktop will show up. Then, just use the server as you would any other Windows operating system. Run business software, MetaTrader for Forex trading, development tools, or anything else that runs on Windows.
Frequently asked questions
We recommend Windows Server 2022 for new deployments. It offers improved security and Azure hybrid capabilities. Windows Server 2019 remains excellent for stability. Both are available for immediate deployment.
On Windows, search for 'Remote Desktop Connection'. On Mac, install 'Microsoft Remote Desktop' from the App Store. Enter your server's IP address and credentials, and you'll see your Windows desktop within seconds.
Windows requires more resources than Linux. We recommend at least 4 GB RAM for basic use. For running applications via RDP, choose 8 GB RAM and 4 vCPUs. For disk, 50 GB or more is ideal since Windows uses 15 to 25 GB.
Yes. We offer licensed Microsoft software through the SPLA program. Select Office, SQL Server, or Exchange during deployment, or add licenses later through the portal.
Yes. Every Windows deployment includes all current Microsoft updates. Your server is ready to use immediately without waiting for a lengthy update cycle.
Windows Server supports multiple concurrent RDP sessions. Add Remote Desktop Services (RDS) licenses for additional users. Contact support to set up multi-user access.
Yes. We support Windows Server 2008 R2, 2012 R2, 2016, 2019, 2022, and 2025. Choose the version your applications require during deployment.
Windows Defender is included and active by default. You can install additional security software as needed. We also offer firewall configuration through the portal.
